Duke Energy’s initiative to diversify the solar energy industry includes partnerships with minority-owned businesses like EnerWealth Solutions, which is helping bring clean energy to underserved communities in North Carolina.
As part of its effort to expand access and representation in the solar sector, Duke Energy is working with organizations such as EnerWealth, led by Ajulo Othow, to support small-scale solar projects that benefit Black farmers and rural landowners. These collaborations aim to create economic opportunities, promote energy equity, and ensure that the clean energy transition includes historically marginalized groups. The initiative also involves mentoring and capacity-building for diverse suppliers, helping them participate in utility-scale solar development.
